The highlights of the trip would have to have been the the grueling ping pong tournament at the Rooster’s Wife between Aller, Neil, and Aaron, and of course Floyd Fest. At Floyd Fest we had the honor of playing on the same stage as Levon Helm, Old Crow Medicine Show, Deer Tick, Low Anthem, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, and Joe Pug.

A Big Big shout out to all of our friends who played amazingly kick ass shows at the Festival. Rising Appalachia blew us away with their stunning beauty, soulful music, and tribal face paint. The Two Man Gentleman Band had us in tears of laughter as usual. The Holy Ghost Tent Revival added a trumpet player and melted too many faces to count. Christabelle And The Jons and Miss Tess and the Bon Ton Parade made people weak at the knees with their gorgeous voices and tasty playing. The boys from the Wiyos inspired us to go practice more so we can one day be half as good as them.

with Fishtank Ensemble. The Fishtank Ensemble is kinda of like if you went on a backpacking trip in Eastern Europe with a gallon of 5 Hour Energy Drink and all you did was go do dance clubs. They do an astonishing unique blend of Romanian, Gypsy jazz, Flamenco, Balkan, Turkish and Tango. We hope to see you there!

We just got through tracking at Macy Sound Studios with Jefferson Hamer. Here’s some picture’s Aaron took with his hipstamatic application on his iPhone, because regular pictures are not as cool.

We’re doing well with our fundraising right now, but we’re still short the dollars for mixing and printing. We need about $2,000 to really make this project happen. 7. Waited for three and a half hours for a cab, only to give up and busk on a corner with a banjo until a kind Austin resident offered a ride.

That about does it for the interesting stuff. We had a great time, but we’re happy to be home and back on our diet of rye whiskey and Pabst Blue Ribbon. We’re off to our favorite spot on the continent, Aberdeen, NC. We’ll be staying with the Rooster’s Wife and having a grand old out on the porch. Why is Scott jumping with joy? Well, we had the good fortune to have our recent show at the Boulder Theater recorded! We shared the bill that night with Elephant Revival, who are some pretty cool cats. The Light The Dust, an Aaron Keim original, from that night was particularly nifty, mostly because Bridget Law from Elephant Revival joined us for the performance.

This is a sweet new video that was taken by my buddies at LODO Cinema. It was from our MOVEMBER Fundraising celebration at the Bluebird Theater in Denver. You can’t tell from the video, but the whole crowd was wearing fake mustaches, and it also happened to be Kailin’s last show with us, so needless to say, it was a monumental night.

We are playing at the Belly Up in Aspen TONIGHT for a completely FREE show. So if you live, there or have friends there, or have the day off tomorrow and want to come see a show tonight and ski tomorrow, then hopefully we’ll be seeing you there!
